The LTV 950 System is a portable ventilator designed for use by individuals with breathing disabilities. The size of a laptop computer, this compact unit works with low pressure/low flow oxygen sources and offers the features of a full-sized ventilator. The unit provides volume control, pressure support, and spontaneous breath types with a breath rate of zero to eighty per minute and a tidal volume of 50 to 2000 milliliters. Manual breath is one times the current settings. The unit is equipped with control locks with a choice of easy or hard unlock methods. Variable alarms include apnea interval, high pressure limit, low peak pressure, low minute volume, alarm volume, alarm silence/reset, and ventilator inoperative. Fixed alarms include disconnect/sense, low and lost external power, low and empty internal battery, and high and low oxygen inlet pressure. Patient monitors include peak inspiratory pressure, mean airway pressure, total breath rate, exhalation tidal volume, total minute volume, calculated peak flow, patient effort, and others. Extended features include apnea backup ventilation, pressure control and pressure support variable rise time, pressure control and pressure support variable flow termination criteria, and others. POWER: The unit can be used with external alternating current (AC), an external battery hookup, a car lighter hookup, or an internal battery. The internal battery provides one hour of temporary power and the external battery provides three or nine hours of power, depending upon the battery selected.
